Absolute Music Lovers presents Dance of Delight (EP) from LA-based multi-instrumentalist Logan Hone– known for his work with John Carroll Kirby as well as his joyful presence across LA's community music landscape. The EP releases on March 13th.



Dance of Delight captures the live anthems Logan has been tooting on sidewalks, parks, and stages for the past 5 years. The music features Logan's exuberant saxophone over homespun rhythm tracks, evolving from what started as accompaniment for street performances with a small Bluetooth speaker and backpack of shakers.

He has jammed these tunes at community-based events like CicLAvia, Bob Baker Day, Listen to Music Outside in the Daylight Under a Tree, San Pedro First Thursdays, The Kenton St Fair, and with the Community Band at Art in the Park LA, which Hone created and directed weekly from 2018-2025. These songs have also been played at venues like Bob Baker Theater, Scribble, Zebulon, and Lodge Room, at residencies at Lowboy and Bub & Grandma's, in a monastery courtyard in Korea, at experimental music venues in Japan, on a beach in the British Virgin Islands, at a farm in Tennessee, as well as many parks & sidewalks in Los Angeles. At last, they are ready to play through your speakers!

This homespun mixtape highlights Logan's one-person-band vision, centered around his alto saxophone. Warm and lyrical, with a tone inspired by Johnny Hodges, his sax bursts with joyful phrases separated by little pockets of space, where you can easily imagine him dancing. The music has a consistent, unmistakable sound, shaped by his choice of instruments: a Casio keyboard patch called "steam vent" sounds like a barrel-organ and his 1920s hodgepodge drum set, played with nylon brushes only, keeps things buoyant and leaves room for the melodies to shine.




"Honeycomb" sets the scene with a cheery groove and smiling saxophone, before a surprisingly fat car-rattling bass kicks in at the end; "Dancing Giddy" races forward with hockey-paced energy and a jumping melody that shifts through major keys; "Dance of Delight" sparkles with three irresistible hooks, set to an infectious cumbia inspired by LA backyard parties and long drives with Viva 103.1 on the radio; "Far Far Away" leans back, turns up the bass, and features warbly guitars and a starlit saxophone that moves bold and playful alongside a sweet flute choir; and “Snowy Step,” the closing banger and the album’s only guest feature, brings in close collaborator K Pasta on acoustic bass guitar, pairing Prince-inspired jazz-pop with shimmering keyboards and firework-like hands-in-the-air splashes.

March 28, 2026 (2pm) at Scribble, Los Angeles
April 12, 2026 at Bob Baker Day, Los Angeles State Historic Park



Hone will celebrate the release of Dance of Delight with two family-friendly afternoon concerts at Scribble in Highland Park on March 28 and at Bob Baker Day at Los Angeles State Historic Park on April 12. Audiences can expect what Hone has become known for – feel-good dance parties, shakers passed to strangers, and instrumental performances that transform spectators into participants.
